Over 160 students are converging on east Tennessee for the 22 edition of the Cumberland Trail Conference BreakAway program. A cooperating site with the national Alternative Spring Break program.
Wartburg College from Iowa got an early start with 14 students working with the Central Crew in Keyes-Harrison WMA February 18-23. The formal ASB program starts Sunday March 5 with the arrival of Pitt, Michigan State and Boston College.

Students are coming from Florida, Delaware, Michigan, Boston, Pittsburgh, Kansas, New York, Alabama, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Colorado.

Local volunteers are welcome to the Sunday orientation sessions each week. Supper is at 5. At 7 students meet the WagonMasters, Trail Boss, make introductions and get an orientation and safety demonstration.
WagonMasters attend a short meeting immediately after the student session.

WagonMaster Leadership training will be held Wednesday, March 8 at Fort Bluff. Training will run from 9AM to 1 PM Eastern time. All CTC Volunteers are invited to attend this important session. This hands-on session focuses on becoming a better leader of volunteer trail building teams. No Charge.

Trail Building 101 Course at Fort Bluff
Sunday, March 5 from 10AM to 2PM Eastern
An essential, hands-on course in building a sustainable hiking trail. Under the guidance of Master Trail Builders, participants will work through every aspect of trail building from corridor clearing to final grooming.
