More than 2,400 feet for week one. Pitt, Boston and MSU work difficult rock areas. Trail Building Class draws 10. Can we make Rt. 30 by next week?
After rearranging the student day off to Tuesday due to rain, every work day was dry and mostly sunny. In spite of two inches of rain Tuesday the digging conditions Wednesday were excellent. Working in a porous, rocky area, the water soaked in quickly and the brilliant sunshine dried everything by ten. In addition to adding 2,400 feet to the trail, they installed 169 rock steps, some of them weighing over 500 pounds.
The Sunday, March 5 Trail Building 101 Class drew 10 participants and built 90 feet of trail. Five of them stayed on to work with first week ASB students and put their new skills to work. many thanks for their interest in the CT and hard work.
