The design of this segment is currently being reviewed as the result of the interest by major landowners in donating additional trail corridor to take the trail through some beautiful and unique areas. This would provide a much enhanced experience for the hiker. There is also a renewed community interest in routing the Cumberland Trail closer to Ozone Falls State Natural Area, or at least providing a side trail and close paved trailhead.
